What is the best way to clean my saddle?

The cleaning method depends on the material the product is made of. The following are the different procedures to clean a saddle made from different materials:

  • Leather: With time and intensive use, leather can lose its elasticity and smoothness. Therefore, we suggest attentive care for this product. The cleaning method is:
  • Give a gentle but thorough cleaning with only neutral soaps and a soft cloth.
  • Protect the product by greasing with a moisturizing and water repellent lubricant.
  • Spray the saddle surface with a standard silicone spray (e.g. one used for a car dashboard)
  • Allow to dry and polish with a soft cloth.
  • Neoprene: A synthetic rubber, neoprene is highly resistant to regular wear and tear resulting from weather conditions. It maintains its flexibility over time, therefore requiring minimal care. The cleaning method is:

- Clean with a neutral soap and soft cloth to avoid any scratches.

  • Carbon fiber: With ideal lightness, resistance and elasticity, carbon fiber offers an innovative solution to facilitate saddlery care. Although it requires minimal care, absolute caution should be taken as excessive force can cause breakage. The cleaning method is:

- Clean with a wet sponge and neutral soap.- Wipe and polish with a soft cloth.

  • Biothane: A substitutive material to the leather with the same look and texture but stronger and more durable. It can handle all kinds of weather conditions and is soft and extremely pliable, thus, requiring simple care. The cleaning method is:Clean with water and neutral soap with a cloth or sponge.

 It is not convenient to clean your saddle after every use. Therefore, maintaining a saddle is as important as cleaning it. To shield your saddle from the dirt and to preserve its finish, we would recommend using a saddle cover to keep the saddle in a close and protected place.

What is the best way to clean my saddle pad?

All our saddle pads are easy to clean. Although, they can be washed in a washing machine, we won’t recommend that as it can deform the saddle pad. Instead, we recommend to hand-wash the saddle pads with water and soap and let it air-dry. 

What is the difference between Balente A and Balente B?

Balente A and Balente B models have same structure and build but with different cantle. Balente A has a high cantle with a deep and secure seat that helps ride in suspension and encourages a good posture where as Balente B has a low cantle with a shallow and flatter seat that allows free unrestrained movement and easy maneuver.

What are the different types of Balente models and how are they different?

Balente A and Balente B are the standard Balentemodels and have the same composite and seat but comes in different cantle heights. Balente A has a high cantle whereas Balente B has a low cantle.


Balente SA and Balente SB are Balente A and Balente B models with the flaps.

Balente Lady models have the same composite and structure like the standard Balente but with a smaller hole and comes in different cantle height with Balente Lady A having a high cantle and Balente Lady B a low cantle.

Furthermore, Balente C model is made with the same composite of the standard model but with additional padding and cushion on the seat. Balente CA has a high cantle whereas Balente CB has a low cantle.Balente Pro models have the same base material, structure and seat like the standard Balente but instead of leather, it is covered with Neoprene material Balente Pro A has a high cantle whereas Balente Pro B has a low cantle.

What is the difference between the standard Balente models and the Balente Lady?

The standard Balente models and Balente Lady models have the same structure and build but have different size of the elongated hole in the middle. The elongated hole of Balente models keeps the pressure off the delicate tissue in the pelvic part as well as keeps the horse’s back properly ventilated. Whereas, the hole of Balente lady models are smaller and partially covered with a deep groove to keep the pressure off the delicate tissues as well as the large area of leather-covered seat offers additional comfort

Which saddle is most suited to a beginner?

For the riders who are just starting out, it can be challenging if the right equipment are not used. Setzi offer three models that are suitable for the beginners as they support the riders to stay balanced and provide security and comfort to, eventually, build up confidence. How to know which saddle suits my horse?

While purchasing a saddle; the main concern of our clients is whether it will fit the horse or not. That’s where we assist you with your choice. We always recommend our customers to send a picture of the horse’s back and our experts will review the image(s) and suggest the models that will fit the best.

Which is the lightest saddle?

Anima carbon models are our lightest saddle till date, weighing only 800 grams. It is a highly developed and innovatory model manufactured using the latest technology.

What is the purpose of the hole in the saddle?

It was observed, after multiple testing, that an elongated hole or a groove in our saddle benefits the rider and the horse in numerous ways. For aggressive and long distance rides, even a well-cushioned saddle can aggravate prostrate problems. The groove and the hole keeps the pressure off the delicate tissues in the crotch area and diminishes the chance of any prostrate problems that may arise.

Additionally, the hole creates a passage of air to pass between the rider and the horse. It keeps the horse’s back properly ventilated without compromising the close contact with the horse.

I usually ride in suspension, which model is the most suitable for this?

Our saddles that are suitable for riding is suspension are models like Narami or Reale that has flaps and knee rolls. The flaps support and protect the leg of the rider and the knee rolls provide comfort and balance to the riders. Other saddles with high cantle, like Balente A, that has deep and secure seat are also suitable as they offer support to the lower back while riding.

How do I place the saddle properly?

  • Place the saddle on the horse in a way that the front of the saddle sits just behind the horse’s shoulder.
  • Tighten the back billet prior to the front billet to test the initial fit for the horse.
  • Let the horse take a few steps and then adjust the tightness of the back billets accordingly.
  • Lastly, tighten the front billet such that your fingers fit snugly under the billet but not tightly.

I want to customize the saddle; how can I request it?

Setzi offers personalization of products for our entire range. The customization requests can be sent by filling the Custom request form. As custom-built products are made to best suit your needs, therefore all custom requests are evaluated by our team and the final quotation is shared with you accordingly. Please note that customized products are non-exchangeable and non-refundable.

What is a Recycling plan? Can I participate in the Recycling plan and how can it benefit me?

Setzi begins their year by contributing to nature and recycle to prevent excessive usage of plastic and other raw material and reduce wastage. Usually, it is launched in the month of January for the whole month. The plan invites anyone, who owns a Setzi saddle, to send their old saddle to our manufacturing facility. Once we receive the old saddle, we send a notification to the customer to avail the discount. The amount of the discount is decided every year and by recycling the old saddle, the customers can receive the discount on any new saddle they’ll choose to buy which will be delivered to them. You can recycle multiple saddles however the discount is non-accumulative and can be used for one saddle at a time per discount.

What is a Setzi Voucher?

A Setzi voucher is won as a prize by the riders in the races sponsored by Setzi. Each voucher is of different amount and validity as stated on the voucher. The voucher can be used to purchase any Setzi saddle except from the outlet section of the website (or if any other specific product is stated on the voucher) with the discount of the amount mentioned on the voucher. Please note that it cannot be used in conjunction with another promotion or discount.

I won a Setzi Voucher, does it apply to all the products. How can I avail the discount and what is the validity of the voucher?

Congratulations on winning the Setzi Voucher. It can be availed by sending an email to info@setzisaddles.com. You will be provided with the discount code that can be used during the checkout. The discount code will deduct the amount of the voucher from the total purchase amount. The voucher is applicable for any Setzi saddle or the product(s) stated on the voucher except the products in the outlet section. Please note that the voucher is non-transferrable, and can only be used by the entitled holder of the prize and no other person. Moreover, the voucher cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion.

 What is a Setzi gift card?

Setzi gift card is the perfect way to gift someone the flexibility and freedom to buy what they want from Setzi store. The Setzi gift card is like a prepaid card that contains a specific amount (the amount that you paid to buy the card) of money available for the use of a variety of purchases. It is a preferable and convenient way as it allows the recipient of the card to buy what they want and when they want.

I purchased a Setzi gift card, what is the validity of the gift card, and does it apply to all Setzi products or only specified products? How can I avail it?

The Setzi gift card has unlimited validity and can be used any time as per the convenience of the purchaser. It is applicable to all the Setzi products. When a Setzi gift card is bought, the customer receives an email with the digital gift card and the gift code. The Setzi gift card can be availed by using the gift card code provided. Please ensure that the correct email address is provided during the checkout.

The Equestrian centres and clubs can now benefit by registering with us as an Equestrian centre or Equestrian club. We have a separate page to facilitate them so that they can have access to products and prices specially offered to them.

Do you ship worldwide?

Setzi offers worldwide shipping for all their products.

What is your refund and exchange policy?

For any exchange or return of product, kindly send us an email at info@setzisaddles.com with your name, product name and order number. Please note that the customized products cannot be returned or exchanged.

For returns, the product(s) must be sent within 14 days from the date of receipt, to our facility. The products must be unused, undamaged or untampered and shall be sent in the original packing and in same condition in which it was received by the customer. The shipping and handling charges of the returned product must be borne by the customer.

For Exchange, the product(s) must be sent within 14 days from the date of receipt, to our facility. The products must be unused, undamaged or untampered and shall be sent in the original packing and in same condition in which it was received by the customer. The shipping and handling charges of the product sent for exchange must be borne by the customer.

What are your shipping and handling charges?

The shipping and handling charges depends upon the delivery destination and are calculated during the checkout. Once the order is shipped, our administrative team will send an email with the tracking number.

Can I cancel my order?

Send us an email at info@setzisaddles.com for any cancellation requests with your name, product name and order number. Please note that the orders placed can only be cancelled within 24 hours of your initial purchase. After 24 hours, you will not be able to cancel it.

When can I expect my order to be delivered?

There is no set delivery time and can vary depending upon the products ordered and the delivery method selected. The products that are in stock are shipped with 5-8 working days for European Union customers and 7-15 working days for International order.

What are the estimated processing times for a refund/ exchange?

Once we receive your returned item, we will notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the item. If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund the amount to the original method of payment after deducting the shipping and handling charges. You will receive the refund within 7 days after we receive the product and when the refund is approved, depending upon your card issuer's policies.

What are the different payment options?

The payment options available during checkout are Paypal, Applepay and debit/ credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and American Express).

Do the saddles come in different sizes?

The saddles come in 3 different sizes that are built according to the different types of horses. The size 1 or the “standard size” is the smallest size with the tree width of 18cm and is most commonly used as it fits well to most of the horses. The size 4 is the medium size with the tree width of 20 cm and the size 6 is the largest size with the width of 22 cm.

However, we recommend our customers to send us a picture of the back of the horse and our experts would suggest the saddle that will suit best. 

What all is covered in Setzi’s warranty and what is the duration of the warranty period?

The Setzi warranty covers the damage of the tree of the saddle. All faulty parts and subassemblies, resulting despite customer´s normal use, will be repaired and/or replaced at no charge during the warranty period. Please retain the warranty certificate together with the invoice for future complaints about the product conformity. For any complaint please send us a copy of the invoice and warranty certificate with a photo of the product to this e-mail: info@setzisaddles.com

Customer obligations: To keep the product in good condition, away from high levels of humidity and sun exposure; to care for the leather surface regularly with a special leather balm; when the product is not in use, it must be covered with the provided protection; the product must be carried inside its bag/case protection.

Warranty shall not apply to the following: After one year from the date of purchase; discoloration from sun or humidity exposure; normal wear and tear of the product; if product was repaired by unauthorized personnel; if the leather was treated with detergents and solvents.

Please note that the validity of the warranty is for one year from the date of purchase.

My horse gets injured very easily with the friction of the saddle pads; do you have a specific model that assists in avoiding such injuries?

We suggest merino saddle pad models for the horses that are easily injured. Those models are made with pure merino wool which is very soft and fine makes it comfortable and dampers the impact of the rider. It fits on the back of the horse like a second skin without causing itches and irritation. It absorbs moisture and keeps the saddle pad and the back of the horse dry.

I suffer from knee pain when I ride, is there a specific model that can help me?

We suggest Narami and Reale saddle models for the riders who suffer from knee pain as the models comes with flaps that support the leg of the rider and the front knee rolls provide comfort and balance to the rider. Additionally, we suggest adjusting the stirrups a little longer so the position of the knee is a bit open.

How are plus models different from standard models?

The plus model of the saddles comes with a smaller hole or groove in the saddle than the standard saddle models.
